Automated I/O

My mission is to provide solid control systems that are reliable and easy to maintain.
I work with my clients to develop solutions that work for them. I encourage onsite maintenance personnel to be involved and engaged during installation and startups so they might have a better understanding and ownership of projects when they are commissioned.
I started my own business more out of necessity than intent. In 2014 my former employer of 12 years was preparing to retire and I was in a good position to move away from my hometown. In September of 2014 I made the move from Paso Robles CA to Corvallis Or.
A few long standing clients wanted my continued support so I started working as Dan Heaston Controls in September, in December I registered Automated I/O with Oregon State. Since my work is primarily computer based, I can provide most of the support remotely, with infrequent visits to the facilities for commissioning.

I am a 20+ year controls veteran.
Started out working as an electrician and got excited about motor controls back in the mid 80's.
Spent 10yrs working for a large global wine company where I started working with PLC's. As Maintenance Supervisor I was responsible for supporting all Process Controls, Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, Industrial Waste Water System, and Facility Systems.
I spent the last 12 years working for an Industrial Refrigeration/ Mechanical Contractor in a Controls Engineering Capacity and designed, built, installed and supported refrigeration and process controls for the Wine, Beer and Vegetable Processing Industries.
